Tagine on the barbeque

A few years ago a friend gave me a tagine. This was after another friend (who doesn’t cook) thought it was hilarious when I said that it was important to have the “correct cooking vessel”.  Luckily my other friend didn’t think this was so silly.

My problem was my stove. It’s a ceramic cooktop. It needs flat bottom pots (Padernos work great), and my tagine wouldn’t work on it. I have tried using it in the oven and that’s ok, but in this heat…no way! Today I tried setting it on the barbeque. Worked great!



Here’s the result… now a little brown rice and white wine and I’m set. Me thinks there might not be much more cleaning done tonight!
